Patient Confidentiality

We place great emphasis on the need for the strictest confidentiality in respect of our patients. We will not divulge any information about a patient unless we are given permission from the individual or their next of kin.

Requests for interviewing/ photographing patients must be made through the Communications Team.

Arranging interviews with Trust staff

The press office should be the first point of contact for all journalists contacting the Trust.

Trust staff are advised to refer any direct approaches from journalists to the press office, so it is quicker to start with us.  We understand the various media deadlines and can usually identify and contact the most appropriate staff member quickly.  We aim to provide a prompt and up-to-date information service to the media.

Under no circumstances may interviews, filming or photography be carried out on trust premises without the express permission of the communications team, who can be contacted on the above numbers.

Major Incidents

In the event of a major incident, the major incident plan would be put into operation.  A priority of this plan is to provide information to the media as quickly as possible from our major incident centre, which will be established at Moorgreen Hospital.

During a major incident you will be given regular updates and the opportunity for interviews with key Trust staff, as is necessary.
