Data compendium refresh

The data underpinning this document has been collated into an online compendium and is available to download on this website.

The data is organised into the same 'key themes' that underpin the JSNA, thus making it easier for the reader to map across. The compendium is designed to be updated on a regular basis as new data becomes available. The date of the last upload is shown within each theme.

Throughout the data compendium Southampton has been benchmarked against England and against its peer PCTs and local authorities according to the ONS 2001 Area Classification. This classification was constructed using 42 demographic, housing, socio-economic and health indicators in a clustering procedure that resulted in a classification of which local authorities and PCTs were most similar.

Where appropriate we have also presented data for localities and wards within Southampton; the boundaries of these are shown on the map below. Finally, where possible we have also presented time trend data for the indicators at City level.

Please use the links to the right to start accessing the Data Compendium, or alternatively access the data via the data compendium tabs within each of the Key Theme pages.

The data used in the JNSA has been drawn from a wide variety of sources and has been developed by colleagues in NHS Southampton and Southampton City Council working in partnership.
